Personal Success & Empowerment

The Success Principles by Jack Canfield - This is my number 1 go-to text book for success.  It contains a comprehensive break down of Jack's formula for success. In my opinion, Jack is the master of the success formula.

Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill - This book is a classic.  It was written after the Great Depression and was based on extensive research of the most successful people of the time. Much of its contents is just as relevant today as it was when it was written in the 1930s.

The Code of the Extraordinary Mind by Vishen Lakhiani - This is one of the most interesting and powerful books I have ever read. The book builds on itself as Vishen takes you through a process of questioning everything that you have accepted without question and to create your own ways of living that are true to yourself. He then takes you through explanations of higher states of consciousness that are truly mind blowing. I think my favourite take away from this book is the concept of becoming “Unfuckwithable”.  This is the state you can reach where you are so secure with who you are in yourself that nothing that happens that is external to you can shake you.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey - This is another classic. This is a great book on the personal mindsets and ongoing actions / habits of successful people.

The One Thing: The Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results by Gary Keller & Jay Papasan - This is one of my personal favourites, largely because of its simplicity. The premise is that your success primarily comes down to your "One Thing".

Leadership

Start With Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action by Simon SinekSimon is rapidly creating a movement of change towards better leadership. He has amazing insights into the creation of work environments where people are inspired to come to work. Simon has some amazing TED talks and interviews available online.

The New One Minute Manager by Ken Blanchard & Spencer Johnson - This book teaches a management and leadership style that is focused both on profit and on people.

Business - Various

The 4-Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss - This book is about setting up your business so that it can run with little input from you. Tim has some very interesting ideas regarding time management, automation and delegation. Tim is quite an extraordinary man. I would encourage you to watch his TED talks.

The E-Myth Revisited: Why Most Small Businesses Don't Work and What to Do About It by Michael Gerber - This book looks at the underlying assumptions that work against business success, and why you need to work on your business, not just in your business.

Personal Development

You are the Placebo - Making your Mind Matter by Dr. Joe Dispenza - Dr Joe Dispenza is a scientist in the areas of Neuroscience, Epigenetics and Quantum Physics. His research and teachings focus on the incredible effect of our thoughts on our health and wellbeing, both positive and negative, and the things that we can change in our thoughts and mental wellbeing to positively affect our health.

Feel The Fear and Do It Anyway by Susan Jeffers - Whether we realise it or not, most of us stop ourselves from pursuing what we want or even what is best for us, because of fear. This book is designed to teach you to push through your fears and move forward in your life.

Loving What Is by Byron Katie - Katie teaches a simple process for questioning the thoughts that cause us pain, and then "turning them around". The basic premise is that it's not the problem that causes our suffering; it's our thinking about the problem that causes suffering.

The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton - This book examines the biology and general science behind the effects of our positive and negative thoughts.

The Body Keeps The Score by Bessel Van Ber Kolk - This book looks at trauma - patterns of responses and effects, and effective treatments for helping people recover from trauma.

Human Nature & Interaction

Captivate - The Science of Succeeding with People by Vanessa Van Edwards - Vanessa was a self-confessed socially awkward person.  She set herself a mission to discover the science behind human interaction. This is an interesting and enlightening book.

The Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene - Robert looks at the underlying, and often dark elements of human nature. His work is based on a combination of a wide range of specialists and from history itself. This is an empowering book because it is through understanding the underlying nature that we can up level ourselves beyond the destructive pattern, and we can gain fantastic insight into others.

The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman - This is a fantastic, light hearted look into how you can show others that you care. It is written primarily for romantic relationships, but it can be applied to any type of relationship. The premise is that everyone has a primary love language, a way that they feel loved and appreciated if somebody shows that love language towards them.
